In 1999 NEWLINCS entered into a 25 year contract with North East Lincolnshire Council (NELC) to manage household and municipal waste arising in North East Lincolnshire.

NELC itself has retained the responsibility for collecting waste from householders and delivering it to NEWLINCS, which is responsible for the treatment and disposal of the following types of waste:

• Materials placed in dustbins by householders;
• Materials collected from household as part of "kerbside collection" schemes;
• Materials deposited by members of the public at Community Recycling Centres;
• Materials deposited by members of the public at "Bring To" sites; and street sweepings and litter.

NEWLINCS Provides:

• The Integrated Waste Management Facility
• Operation of two Community Recycling Centres
• Materials handling and recycling operations
